I am a college graduate from Black Hills State University. I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree, where I majored in Communication Arts and minored in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Journalism. I also hold a Graphic Design certificate. In addition to academics, I was a four-year member of the university's women's basketball team and a staff member of the university's newspaper. I currently am Lead Graphic Designer for a financial publishing company and manage both editorial and marketing design decisions.

Professional experience: 5 years as a graphic designer in the publishing industry, 3 years as a freelance graphic designer, 1 year as a copy editor, and 2 years as a page editor and contributing editor for my university's award-winning newspaper I want to be a tutor because I love helping people understand composition and what makes a great design. I am passionate about art and passionate about helping people. I believe it is important not only create great art, but to have an understanding as to what makes art great.

Hobbies
I love being outside! I grew up in a small town in Wyoming and went to college in South Dakota, so being outdoors is where I feel the most relaxed. I love sports and enjoy watching and playing them. There is no better way to clear the mind than by being active! When I am not creating a design on the computer, I am probably painting, drawing or hanging out with my puppy. I love to teach, but I also love to keep learning... finding art shows to attend and design conferences frequently show up on my to-do list.
